Did your ghee melt? That can happen during transit, especially in the warm summer months.
We’ve always been fearlessly committed to our beautiful ghee arriving on your doorstep the way it left ours – SOLID! During the summer though this is challenging to accomplish. We do our best to pre-chill your orders before packing and shipping so it helps to keep it solid during transit. We even deliver your order to the local UPS or USPS facility late in the day so it’s not riding around in a very hot truck all day! Plus your order leaves Lancaster PA overnight when temps are slightly cooler.
Why Ghee Melts
Although ghee doesn’t need to be refrigerated, it hates the heat and will melt down to oil, like coconut oil does.
When you order ghee from the Simply Ghee Shop during the hot summer months, please keep in mind that your ghee may be melted upon arrival due to 2-3 days in transit during temps 80+ degrees Fahrenheit.
This melting does not affect the integrity of our ghee! Extremely soft ghee and totally melted ghee are both acceptable forms in which ghee can be used. Our ghee has NOT been compromised in any way. It only takes the ghee to an oil stage which can be beneficial to those who like to “pour” oil!
